This urban family-friendly van was first introduced in June 1998.  The first generation U30 model continued its production till 2009. It was a single only vehicle officially sold in Singapore, Brunei, Hong Kong, and Japan. The term Presage has been taken from the French language which has a meaning of warning and signal. It has been manufactured to stay above the industry competition with Honda Odyssey and Toyota Estima. It also shared some of the elements by having a similar platform design with Nissan R’nessa and Nissan Bassara. The initial generation was a 5-door multi-purpose vehicle with a combination of front wheel drive and an all-wheel drive structure.

 

It provides many essential features from both of its 2WD and 4WD layouts such as electronic brake-force distribution, braking assist system, load sensing valve, and an anti-lock braking system.

 

The second generation appeared in June 2003 popularly known as U31. It was offered with convertible seven to eight seat structure. It was built on the L-Class Platform. It was provided with a 4 cylinder 2.5 liters and a 3.5 liters V6 gasoline engine. It was powered by 4-speed CVT automatic transmission.

 

It was a spacious and comfortable wagon equipped with rear-view camera feature for an easy back reverse position.
