This sporty and trendy smart hatchback car was initially introduced in the year 1962 as a line of small cars in Japan. The term Colt is defined as a small male horse.  The Initial generation model was also popularly known as Mitsubishi Colt Gallant which consisted of 2-door pillared coupe, 2-door hardtop, 4-door sedan, and a 5-door wagon. It was a 1600 cc hatchback built with a unibody design and a front-engine and rear-wheel drive structure. The second generation was launched with a new rounder shaped body in 1973 known as Mitsubishi Gallant and Chrysler gallant. It was built with a distinctive body style variation of 2-door hardtop pillar less coupe, 2-door and 4-door sedan, and a 5-door station wagon with a front engine, rear-wheel drive layout structure.

The latest version is better known as Mitsubishi Mirage available with 1.5 liters and 1.8 liters of gasoline fuel engine with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic speed transmission.
